Thankfully I live in an apartment that doesn’t have many kids in it. I didn’t have to deal with any trick-or-treaters and didn’t go to any parties, so my Halloween was very quiet. In the afternoon, I went for a 3-mile run and then straight to a tough boot camp session. I definitely earned the pieces of candy I ate last night. 😉 Whew, my legs feel so tired today.  Continue reading

Beginning Hal Higdon’s Novice Half Marathon Training Program

I love running outdoors. It was a bit misty because of the fog, but wonderful.

I’m worried about the rainy season, because I don’t know if I can survive running 3+ miles on a treadmill. How do people do it? It’s just so… boring. Plus, my gym has a 30 minute limit on their cardio machines, so I’d probably have to start & stop many times. Boo. Not looking forward to that.

Anyway, I am starting Hal Higdon’s Novice Half Marathon Training Program this week. I was supposed to run 3 miles yesterday, but because I got to the gym too late, I only did 1 on the treaddreadmill before boot camp started. Today I was supposed to run 2 miles (or cross train), but I ran 3. I’m missing 1 mile, but I think I’m okay, it’s only the beginning, am I right?! 😛

Thursday I will need to run another 3 and then Sunday will be my longest run, of 4 miles… I’m excited. I hope the weather stays like this for a little while longer!
